EDUCATION

Many children were displaced from Vanni after the war are unable to continue with their studies in view of lack of funding to buy books and stationaries. These vulnerable children are identified and educational support is given in the form of issuing books, providing educational support and evening tuition classes. Many such classes are conducted in Vanni district as well as in Jaffna district for children who have been displaced from Vanni. a dedicated education centre Thyagalingam education centre has been established in Thinnaveli and is currently functioning very successfully. To date, about 500 children are included in this education program. It is heartwarming to see the improvement in their grades and ongoing success in their progress reports.
